Old Business: · The picnic at Howard Peeples Park served as our May 2008 meeting. Outstanding Smoked Boston Butt and Chicken thanks to Pete K4QHR and Shane KE4KAK! Thanks to both for doing such a great job cooking the meat and also thanks to everyone who came and brought a passing dish. If anyone went home hungry it was their own fault. · Dues – Don’t forget that it’s past time for dues. Please pass these along to KD1Q. KD1Q has provided the website with a new roster of paid up members. Please take a moment to verify your information. · Field Day Update: — WA4GWB reported that Lowes have given permission to use their grassy knoll for field day. Toby motioned that Lowes be the primary site for field day rather than K-Mart. The vote was unanimous. — Glenn, KD4ULB mentioned that we should try and get permission to set up a table at Lowes front door with information on ham radio. K4TMN has a folding table we can use for this purpose. It was then decided that a letter outlining the scope of our field day operation needs along with a liability waiver should be provided to Lowes. WA4GWB will create the letter and get K4TMN’s signature. — George, WA4GWB is also heading up the antenna repair effort of the two beams. Mike, KA7SQD will contact city officials, newspaper, etc with field day information. · Saturday 9 am breakfasts at Cracker Barrel continue to go well. Please contact N3EAY on 147.195 prior to 8:45 if you plan to attend so he can get a table big enough for all. · Glenn [KD4ULB] continues to request content for the website. If you have pictures, articles, etc, please forward them to him at . Please include a description of when, where and who. New Business · WA4GWB motioned that the club reimburse Pete and Shane for meat and expenses for the picnic. The motion passed unanimously. · Net Control – KD4ULB offered to be controller for the month of May. We continue to be in need of net controllers for the Sunday night net. Who's up for June? · No 50/50 drawing was held. Respectfully submitted WD8LQT, Secretary
