CCARS Meeting Minutes for Sunday Jul 11, 2010


The meeting was called to order at 3:30pm

Old business:

Field day: George presented the report on field day. The beam antenna on the club tower trailer worked best. We got extra points for operating at the EOC, as well as identifing issues with EOC radio operations.

Filters: The bandpass filters used for the field day operations worked fine, except for the 20 meter filter. It had high VSWR. Thurston is looking into the issue.

Eating meeting: Adell brought up the possibility of an August eating meeting. Murray's restaurant in Yulee is to be the place, at 1:00 on August 1st. Testing will commence at 4:00pm at the EOC, as usual.


New business:

Special event station at Okeefenokee is in discussion.

IOTA at Cumberland in the fall. Date to be determined.

The 147.195 repeater will be moved to the Harriet's Bluff tower at 300 feet, before the end of the year.

Tent city at Effington County could be next years field day, which could be deployed in Camden County.

Testing: John has the new technician tests for the current test sessions, starting on July 1st.


Treasurer's report:

Adell read the treasurer's report:

Starting balance 3/31/10: $1,234.04
Ending balance 4/30/10: $1,104.92

Operational balance 7/11/20: $1,170.02


Meeting was adjourned at 3:53 pm.

And adell won the raffle, but let it roll over.
