2009 CCARS Technician Class Bootcamp Camden County Emergency Operations Center Kingsland, GA |
|
CCARS is well know in SE Georgia for its monthly VE testing sessions. People come from over 50 miles away to take their license exam with us, not to mention all the folks on sailboats passing through on their way south to Florida or the Bahamas for the winter, who make St Marys a stop on thier route just to take thier test.
This year, thanks to increased interest in ARES, CERT, and other Emergency Services groups, we decided to put together a one day intensive review of all the material covered on the Technician Class exam, ending the day in the holding of a testing session. The students were all required to procure study guides and learn the material in advance, then we did an 8 hour presentation with Q&A style review.
The event was a success, with many newly licensed, smiling ham radio operators leaving that evening. Many thanks to all who participated, with special thanks to Andy, AA4XS for being the main organizer. Looking forward to next year!
